The golden days

The 72nd Festival de Cannes Awards is a wrap for yet another year: after 12 days of film screenings, premières, red carpet events and wonderful outfits, the international stars of film have said goodbye to the French Riviera, leaving a legacy of unspoiled charm behind them.

Glamour was the watchword for all the stars who walked on the stairs of the Palais des Festivals in their exceptional outfits, starting with the botanical gown by Valentino Couture for actress Elle Fanning (one of the jurors of the event), who showed great style by alternating impeccable everyday looks like the one by Dior in homage to Grace Kelly or the wedding dress style of Reem Acra.

One of the many trends was tuxedos for the ladies.
Yves Saint Laurent created it inspired by Marlene Dietrich in 1966, offering a new aesthetic look for women and here, Anthony Vaccarello for Saint Laurent dressed Anja Rubik in a sexy shirtless tuxedo. Hanaa Issa (producer of the film ‘It Must Be Heaven’) in full black and Tilda Swinton in full white.

There was another micro-trend to highlight, bare bellies.
Enrapturing us was one of the most talented French actresses: Marion Cotillard with a black two-piece outfit by Chanel Haute Couture. Chiara Ferragni wore a silver crop top with Swarovski crystals, studded straps and two bows on the front, and a black silk skirt from Philosophy by Lorenzo Serafini. Pure white for Selena Gomez and Neelam Gill.

And the red carpet continued to dazzle with the female lead of Belloccio’s “Il Traditori”, Maria Fernanda Cândido, in an embroidered sequin dress by Christian Dior. Maxi silver sequins for Isabelle Huppert (star of the film “Frankie”) in Giorgio Armani Privé, and different shades of red sequins outlining a paisley pattern for the piece by Etro worn by Brazilian actress Marina Rui Barbosa.
