FASHION SHOWS: 19-22 APRIL 2023 / TRADE SHOW: 21-23 APRIL 2023 - BARCELONA

Valmont Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week, host of the 2020 ELLE International Bridal Awards

VBBFW, the world’s leading bridal event, will host the fourth edition of the ELLE International Bridal Awards — the most internationally-renowned awards in the sector — with the aim of recognising designers’ creative potential, alongside excellence in the different spheres of the bridal wear industry. The awards ceremony will be held within the event, during a gala evening set to bring together entrepreneurs, buyers, designers and professionals from all over the world in an increasingly multicultural and cosmopolitan atmosphere.

VBBFW will once again be the setting for the ELLE International Bridal Awards ceremony, the awards that recognise excellence in the bridal world and which this year will celebrate their 4th edition. The jury will be comprised of the Editors-in-Chief of the 12 participating editions of ELLE in Australia, Arabia, Germany, Japan, Hong Kong, Italy, Russia, Spain, South Korea, Sweden and Turkey, along with VBBFW director, Estermaria Laruccia.

There will be 12 different award categories: Best Wedding Dress; Best Bridal Collection; Best Groom Collection; Best Jewellery Collection; Best Fashion Show; Best Honeymoon Resort; Best Wedding Planner; Best Promotional Campaign; Best New Talent; and the award for Lifetime Achievement. As a new addition, two new award categories will be included: the “Sustainability Award” that will recognise the bridal fashion company that applies sustainability criteria throughout its value chain, and the “Best Bridal Boutique” that will be delivered to the best workshop/point of sale in each country where participating ELLE editions are present.

In its last edition, the Spanish labels Rosa Clará and Yolancris, Italians Peter Langner and Antonio Riva, Elie Saab from Lebanon, American Tom Ford, English designer Stella McCartney, TIFFANY & CO., Il Pellicano Hotel in Porto Ercole (Italy) and Italian wedding planner Anna Frascisco won the different awards.

The ELLE International Bridal Awards recognise sustainability
For the first time this year, in keeping with the values of VBBFW 2020, the ELLE International Bridal Awards will award the most sustainable company, “thus reinforcing”, declares Estermaria Laruccia, “our commitment to a new paradigm of fashion based on the balance between ethics and aesthetics that places the focus on sustainability, diversity and inclusion as values, as well as the challenges faced by the fashion industry. Once again we’re delighted”, adds Laruccia, “to host the ELLE International Bridal Awards to ensure excellence, talent and creativity remain centre stage”.

François Coruzzi, CEO of ELLE International Media Licenses, stated that “We are thrilled to begin the 4th edition of the ELLE International Bridal Awards once again in association with Valmont Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week, highlighting the global talent of the bridal industry.”

VBBFW, organised by Fira de Barcelona, will celebrate its 30th anniversary between 20th and 26th April 2020 at the Plaza de España fair venue with large firms and young designers from all over the world among the exhibitors. In addition to the fashion show, which will see the participation of more than 30 brands, the organisation expects to surpass the figures of VBBFW 2019 which had more than 430 firms, 74% international from 34 countries, and more than 23,000 visitors, mostly entrepreneurs, retailers and distributors, from a hundred countries.
