In 2025, creativity will reinvent classic femininity with avant-garde touches, for a romantic, fashion-loving bride, who has a keen eye for details and embraces tradition in silhouettes and finishes, but with a 21st century vision of the ceremony, in which she feels the absolute star. These are some of the trends distilled from the designs that brands will showcase on the BBFW runway together with other prestigious bridal firms that will define the style of next year’s brides.
Designers revisit classic lines reinterpreting them with contemporary codes. The key styles are minimalist, boho, and ‘super star’ depending on the wedding venue and the bride’s tastes, more classic, sophisticated or romantic.
The proposals of designers and brands suggest that in 2025 the bride will be refreshed with dresses that leave the corset in sight, even underlining the stays and integrating them as details in the dress. The designs focus on enhancing the female figure, with options ranging from classic strapless dresses to revealing transparencies.
Fabrics are luxurious such as silk Mikado or Chantilly lace in the more sculptural volumes, and organza, silk and sometimes bambula for the more ethereal ones. The combinations of materials, including the contrast between heavy bodies and ultra-light fabrics, add dynamism and a touch of modernity to the bridal creations.
As for the color palette, white remains the star: nacre, pearl or ivory, nuanced and softened with a delicate range of beige and nude, or with touches of rose. The alternative is completed in the universe of neutrals, with titanium gray and in the universe of bright colors with pinks, light blue, yellow and a touch of Klein blue.
Hence, next season’s bridal trends offer a celebration of femininity, tradition, and innovation, with designs that embody timeless elegance with a touch of futuristic boldness.
Top Makeup and Hairstyling
The renowned firm, MAC Cosmetics, with its creative director Xabier Rodrigues and senior artist Maite Tusset, will be responsible for the make-up of the models in BBFW fashion shows. This year’s proposal for facial skin focuses on the nude palette with satin textures, along with blushes ranging from peach to pink. The cream eyeshadows will create visual effects that mimic the colors of the skin itself, from tanned browns to slightly bluish grays. Cosmetic products unnoticeable to the viewer’s eye will be used, projecting the subtle beauty of fresh, healthy and natural skin. Lips will be highlighted with neutral tones to more pronounced colors, according to the designer’s preferences and the image he proposes, each time personalizing the style to enhance the bride’s beauty and mirror her personality.
Leading sustainable hair products brand Kevin Murphy will be responsible of hair care and styling, proposing the classic bun adapted to current trends, cleaner, softer, twisted, flowing and even blunt. Each designer will choose their favorite version, from the most classic to the youngest and most transgressive. Another big trend that will be seen in hairstyles are accessories, such as pearls and diamonds, used in partial updos such as a hair tiara, ribbon bows that embellish soft ponytails and, finally, elastic headbands.
The famous Hello Nails salon, for its part, will take care of the hands of the models, with the “clean nails” style that continues to prevail in the wedding industry, especially the nude colors and the classic French manicure. However, this year we will see new trends on the catwalks that have made their way such as nail polishes with rhinestones or metallic tones.
On the other hand, Aire Ancient Bath will once again indulge the models by offering its backstage services during the 4 days of the fashion shows, FeverTree will create two exclusive cocktails for the BBFW, Pop It will offer its Gourmet popcorn, while the Almanac Hotel will host the VIP guests of the event. All partner brands offer excellence in products and services that add to BBFW in order to present the latest trends and celebrate fashion.
Organized by Fira de Barcelona with the support of the Catalan Ministry of Business and Labor, BBFW will host the collections of more than 400 brands in the trade show from April 19 to 21. It is worth noting the high internationality of the event, with 80% of the firms present at the exhibition coming from 35 countries, and buyers from over 80 countries and markets, including the U.S., Japan, Republic of Korea, Europe, Latin America, Southeast Asia and for the first time in this edition, Australia, strengthening BBFW as a business hub and world reference event in its specialty.
