To allow more firms to show on the catwalk, the next edition of Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week will have an extended fashion show programme of five days, one more than usual. The next edition, which takes place on 23-29 April 2018 at Fira de Barcelona’s Montjuïc venue, is being planned so BBFW will once again be the international benchmark for bridal fashions, underlining its status as the nerve centre of the global market for businesses and buyers.
Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week is extending the catwalk shows by an additional day. The fashion show programme for 2018 will feature 25 major firms from April 23 to Friday 27 April, coinciding with the start of the trade fair which runs through to 29 April. According to Estermaria laruccia, the director of BBFW, ‘extending the fashion show programme will allow us to guarantee catwalk space to some of the numerous firms who request this every year.’
The trade show will be held in the same venue in Halls 1 and 2 of Montjuïc, featuring more than 300 brands, half of them international, who will be showcasing their new proposals for bridal fashions, grooms’ attire, party wear, communion outfits, accessories and jewellery to buyers, guests and media from all over the world.
A brand new image inspired by the exclusive products at the show
The show is launching a brand new image which on this occasion will focus on the concept of ‘uniqueness’, symbolised by the timeless elegance of pearls. In this respect, Laruccia explains that’in a world dominated by trends, the differentiating factor of BBFW is not about volume but rather exclusivity. Creativity, inspiration and art bring added value. We’re committed to the uniqueness of our offering, like our buyers, who refuse to settle for the conventional but are on the lookout for unique ideas at BBFW.’
This new edition aims to reinforce the show’s international scope, focusing primarily on European countries along with the USA, Asia and Latin America. The organisers will be attracting key buyers from these areas to facilitate commercial exchange. ‘Our goal’ says Laruccia, ‘is to consolidate the show as a driver of trends, an international advocate of bridal fashion and, at the same time, an outstanding host, influencer and market driver for both Spanish and foreign firms.’
