FASHION SHOWS: 19-22 APRIL 2023 / TRADE SHOW: 21-23 APRIL 2023 - BARCELONA
Launches its 27th edition which will be held in Fira de Barcelona’s Gran Via exhibition centre

Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week 2017 will showcase the art and creativity of fashion designers

Because bridal fashion is a trade, an art and an expression of culture, Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week is putting together a new edition which will centre on the creative power of designers. The show, to be held from 25 to 30 April 2017 at Fira de Barcelona’s Gran Via exhibition centre, is being planned so that it can grow once again as the benchmark international bridal fashion event, to become consolidated as a nerve centre of the global market for companies and buyers and shine as the venue where designers exhibit their works of art for the world.

Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week launches its next edition with a new image and a new video starring a model ‘dressed’ only in white paint which aims to highlight the designer as a creative and the concept of fashion as a form of artistic expression. According to Estermaria Laruccia, director of the event, ‘As from the next edition we want to shine a spotlight on the creative power of designers, offering them the best possible framework within which to showcase the beauty of their designs which, in many cases, we consider to be genuine works of art. Because fashion is art and Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week it’s greatest window on the world’.

Fashion, international art
Everything is underway so that, at the end of April 2017, Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week will once again become THE showcase for bridal and ceremonial designs, with expected attendance of over 20 prestigious firms on the catwalk and around 260 in the trade show, more than half of them from abroad, showcasing their 2018 collections to buyers, the media and special guests from all over the world.

This new edition aims to reinforce its internationality, focusing on European countries and the USA and also looking towards Asia and Latin America. The organisers will be attracting key buyers and guest designers from these areas in order to facilitate cultural and commercial exchange. ‘Our goal’ says Laruccia, ‘is to consolidate the show as a driver of trends, an international advocate of bridal fashion and, at the same time, an outstanding host, influencer and market driver for both Spanish and foreign firms’.

Catwalk shows at Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week will be taking place between 25 and 28 April, while the trade fair will be held from 28 to 30 April, featuring the full complement of bridal gowns, grooms’ attire, occasion wear, ceremonial dress, Communion outfits, accessories and costume jewellery.
