New Trends from London and New York

Based in New York, as every year traditionally, the official inauguration of Fashion Month 2021/2022 took place with a reduced schedule due to the absence of many personalities such as Marc Jacobs  Ralph Lauren and Tom Ford. Then it was London’s turn, where strictly digital events and fashion shows took place.

In this new “work from home” season, the collections for next autumn-winter are designed for sophisticated comfort with knitwear in cream and chalk colours, in merino wool and recycled cashmere. We also highlight the strong focus on upcycled projects and sustainability with the use of vintage fabrics (Rentrayage), the introduction of experimental low environmental impact yarns (Collina Strada) and Jonathan Simkhai’s vegan suede.

But let’s take a look at what’s trending next season: in terms of outerwear, the chic and fashionable cape is making a comeback and, in an extra-long version, becomes a mantle.

For those who love sleeves, alongside the timeless trench coats, we find wide, sumptuous and structured coats, precious and exuberant in details, in eco and non-eco leather, with a grunge effect.

Always contemporary and reassuring, the suit jacket and trousers: soft or constructed, with strong or contrasting colour tints.

And then, ’80 dates with bulging shoulders, where ironic style, romanticism and glamour are key.

Finally, a trend to great effect, winter white with feathered skirts and embroidered shirts, lace suits and jumpsuits, satin slip dresses, gorgeous sequins and spectacular details, and sophisticated looks make a contemporary bride look stunning.
